In mango crop the Binneal bearing is a challenging issue in
Mango crop. To tackle this issue farmers need to start out some good practices.
1. The farmers should remove most of the Blossoms/inflorescence
from one side of the mango trees, either right side or left side(Thinning of inflorescence). But this needs to be remembered that which side was thinned.
2.
Use of some products such as soil application of
Paclabutrazol 3 ml/10 liter of water in month of July. This is also a
good option to tackle the problem of Binneal bearing issue in Mango.
The thinning of blossoms is a concept, to maintain the
nutrient and energy balance in one side of the tree so that in the next mango
season the tree can bear the flower and fruit on the thinned side.
The flowering in plants and trees consumes much of the
energy. So thinning conserves energy of the plant. If flowers are thinned then for
the next year the enough energy will be present on the thinned side. In current
season the flower bearing side exhaust most of the plants energy so in the next
year the non – thinned side bears less fruits.
If blossoms/ inflorescence are not thinned then the energy
exhausts from whole of the tree during flowering so that next year whole plant/
tree bears less fruits.
